Body
I have often heard that our body is our temple. This statement is very true. Really I want you to sit back and ask this question to yourself, how do you treat your temple. Now I’m not getting religious on you, nor am I telling you to run out to whole foods and switch to all organic foods. What I am saying is take a look at yourself in the mirror. Now I want you to ask yourself, have you treated your body the way it should be treated to last yourself for 70 plus healthy years. chances are no. I’ve considered myself a pretty healthy guy. Physically fit, lite exercise, sleep well, etc… But I stood back one day to just observe society in a whole. We can go to a fast food chain now for less then what we can make 3 healthy meals a day, and lets really think about this we start our children off almost from the first day they can eat solid food. I was out taking a walk one day and passed by this woman doing some gardening in her front yard. Now I’m the type of person to strike up a pretty quick conversation and it came up that she was a vegetarian. Yes I know, one extreme to the other. But the conversation was very enlightening. She grew all her own fruits and vegetables and only bought non hormonal chicken. Yes, some vegetarians eat meat. Now mind you what she told me made sense. If you take a look at society and really think about it, everything we eat is processed and nothing is fresh. This makes for a very difficult situation when selecting foods for yourself. I really have to laugh when I’m at a grocery store watching moms read the back label of a soup can. Seriously, it’s processed food. You wouldn’t be watching your calories or salt intake if you were making it from scratch. It’s obvious we try to proclaim were a healthy society. But are we really? Think of all the poisons and pesticides we have put into our body over the years. Have you ever read the ingredients of a diet coke? There are words I can’t pronounce, but watching that person worry about whether they get a diet soda because their worried about their weight makes me laugh. I’ll stick with water. Sure were not going to be able to escape everything that is out there. But if you were to wean yourself into a little bit of a healthier diet and perhaps a little exercise, that means take a walk on a daily basis and leave the cell phone at home. It will not only help you with your body it will also help clear your mind. Think about what your eating the next time your getting ready to prepare a meal. Is it a little bit healthier then normal or are you just getting ready to eat another cheese pizza with butter cheese crust. Sure it tastes good, I’m not gonna lie, but on a daily basis I can guarantee you’ll feel a lot better if you start treating your body like a temple rather then a land fill.
